The Kingsgate Skating Club is proud to recognize our long-time member Isabel Jones for competing at the recent Horsetooth Open collegiate competition! Isabel medaled in the Excel Pre-Juvenile Women event and participated in Team Maneuvers as well. “My passion for figure skating is sustained by the people around me, my coaches and friends who are always encouraging me to try hard things and work hard to keep improving,” she shares, reflecting on how she has sustained her love for the sport throughout high school and college.

Isabel is a dedicated freshman at the University of Washington, and like many of the members on her team, she finds joy in the beautiful artistry of the sport. “Balancing college and skating can be hard but I can always find time to skate if I’m motivated to!” She explains, “The thing I enjoy the most about figure skating is the creativity involved. I love making and learning new choreography, skating to interesting music, and anything that really embraces the creativity of the sport.”
